A Poetry-Inspired Art Event

Our Mission

To promote the creative and powerful outlet of poetry, art, spoken word, and music; aiming to encourage youth to explore, discover, and cultivate their own creative talents alongside local artists.

Support the local arts!

Words Come to Life is a poetry-inspired art exhibit blending several forms of art in an effort to inspire our community and empower youth and marginalized adults. In its fourth year, Words Come to Life will focus on the theme of Freedom and will feature original poetry and visual art by local artists and incarcerated individuals from Kern Valley State Prison. This event will also include compelling spoken word presentations and live musical and theatrical performances.

Poetry comes to life through visual and performing arts.

Various workshops are offered to local youth, ages 15-21, and adults who are a part of local programs that offer a second chance at life. The workshops help them explore and discover their own love and talent of poetry writing, visual art, and spoken word.
